MC Open Mic Series- Christmas Edition
Dear MC Friends,
We’ve been rolling for three month now and MCMonday is better every time.
The performances are awesome, and the mood i don’t even want to talk about.
I’m thrilled to welcome Roger Bonair-Agard <http://www.blueflowerarts.com/roger-bonair-agard> as our feature artist this month.
If you don’t know his work, you have no idea what you have been missing.
He’s also the person who directly inspired me to start this series.
He’s visiting from Chicago for just a few days, please make sure to get a taste of his amazing work.
And of course, of many others that choose to perform.
It’s your Other Kind of Christmas Celebration, so come out and Celebrate Arts and the Art of connecting with your MC Family.
I am sending you this invite early so that you have enough time to cancel whatever else you might have planned for that evening, cause nothing can be more fabulous then this.
Below are the series details.
Yours

The series encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative work and is designed to offer artists an opportunity to showcase their work, garner feedback, and network with other artists and presenters in a supportive, informal setting. Featured will be works requiring minimal technical and production demand. Presentations of various duration in all stages of progress are encouraged as this series will not only highlight finished works but will also serve as a development laboratory.
Everyone is welcome to participate.
Everyone means – all arts (keeping in mind that ‘art’ is a flexible category) disciplines: you may want to read an excerpt form your book, try out a monologue you’re auditioning with, perform your mime or magic trick, dance your solo, play your flute, or seat your fire…
Evenings will be structured in 3 parts:
– 7 – 8:30p – the open mic part
– 8:45 – 9:30p – the + part – featured artist
– 9:30 – 10p – the meet and mingle part
Here is how it works:
For the open mic part: you show up at 7, sign up with your host (most likely myself), you get your spot between 7:30 – 8:30, you go when your host (most likely myself) calls your name.
You need to be tech-light (we will provide one mic and a sound system) and your act cannot be longer then 15 minutes.
You bring your own audience – we will post the main info on the events and our featured artists on our calendar, but we cannot provide adequate PR for each of you.
For the + part – featured artist: you email me in advance. if your work is selected, we will program you in one of the upcoming months.
If you’re just being an audience, there is a $5 charge. No discounts, no comps, no exceptions. $5 is not more then a small contribution towards the production that is making it happen for you every month.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase, no outside drink will be allowed in the Gallery.
