Gallery MC is please to announce the upcoming exhibition
body. city. – within a croatian perspective

The exhibition presents works of sixteen artists of the Croatian origin both living and working in New York City, or inspired by the City during their residency programs. The exhibition considers constructing and deconstructing myth of New York as the apex of contemporary visual arts. Through the variety of agendas and artistic disciplines body, personal experience and emotions collide with megacity’s cool vistas and estranged conduct.
Works by: Ante Bozanic | Zoran Drakulic | Predrag Dubravcic | Vlatka Horvat |Bozidar Jurjevic | Zlatko Kopljar | Kristian Kozul | Andreja Kuluncic | Kristina Leko | Leo Modrcin | Dario Solman | Sandra Sterle | Olja Stipanovic | Goran Tomcic | Ksenija Turcic | Mio Vesovic
“In its entirety, the exhibition represents the recent overlapping of Croatian and New York visual art scenes from the perspective of the Croatian artists’ endeavor to achieve and maintain a visible personal position in a mega- production and presentation centre, such as New York. In that context the artists collaborated with cultural protagonists, individuals, curators, promoters and American colleagues – in raising the awareness of Croatia’s specific, interesting and quality response to the general tenets and settings of the international contemporary art scene.”
