SHOW YOUR WORLD, 2nd International Juried Exhibition

Artists from 47 countries sent their entries to take part in the multi-media exhibition. Three points of view will be shown: the world which is real; the world which is history, inheritance, or perception; and the world through a more ironic prism. In many cases the ‘real’ and ‘surreal’ is mixed up, confused, and hard to believe.
The winner: Sheryl Haler, artwork “huMANity”.
Special project: “The First Supper”, art installation conceived and created by Shirley Siegal and Hadieh Afshani, two finalists at our 1st art competition “Show Your World”.
OPENING EVENT: November 11, 6:30 PM – Wine Reception, Live JazzOur musical guest: Evgeny Sivtsov, a New York-based jazz piano player, an alum of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music in Moscow and the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, the Netherlands, and the prizewinner of many international jazz competitions.
The exhibition is on view November 11 – November 22, 2016.
SPECIAL EVENT: November 16, 6:30 PM – Artist Talk: Shirley Siegal and Hadieh Afshani
The event is devoted to the installation “The First Supper”: “The Questions You Were Too Embarrassed to Ask” is a candid talk with two female artists born and raised in Israel and Iran. They met in New York and decided to create a traveling art project to set up a multicultural dialogue on peace. The installation is on view at Gallery MC on November 10 – 22, 2016.
