The chamber ensemble CONSONANCE was established in 2007 as one of the few formations of its kind in the Republic of Macedonia. In the past couple of years it has been part of the Macedonian classical music scene having performed in concert and as part of several important national festivals. The members of Consonance are acclaimed individual musicians and they are currently in the process of recording their first audio CD. Members of the ensemble are: Zdravko Angelov, Igor Bakrevski, Petar Hristov, Sashko Temelkovski and Maja Chanakjevikj.
Maja Chanakjevikj –english horn graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje in the class of Prof. Gordana Josifova. She has attended numerous master classes including the ones of David Walter and Paul Dombrecht and has been awarded first and third prize at the National music competitions and has performed as a soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic orchestra in Macedonia and abroad. Maja Chanakjevikj is an active member of several chamber music ensembles and is employed by the Macedonian Philharmonic orchestra.
Zdravko Angelov-clarinet has finished his clarinet studies at the Faculty of Music in Skopje in 2000 in the class of prof. Stojan Dimov and is currently doing his MA in Clarinet performance. During his studies he has been awarded numerous prizes at national and state competitions including the Yamaha prize for best instrumentalist at the Faculty of music in Skopje. As a soloist and chamber musician, Zdravko Angelov has taken part in performances at important festivals in Macedonia and abroad (Skopje Summer festival, Ohrid Summer Festival, Days of Macedonian music…). He has also appeared as soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic where he is currently employed as principal clarinetist.
Igor Bakrevski- clarinet has completed his education at the Faculty of music in Skopje in the class of prof. Ivan Kocharov. During his studies he has performed as a soloist and as part of chamber ensembles, and he has been awarded prizes at the National music competitions. At the Music competition in Lazarevac he was awarded the first prize and special prize in the category of clarinet duo and quartet.
He is currently employed at the orchestra of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet.
Petar Hristov- clarinet has graduated from the Faculty of music in Skopje in the class of prof. Stojan Dimov. He has taken part in multiple performances of different chamber ensembles and has received prizes in the state competitions in the category of clarinet solo and with chamber formations. He is a member of the Symphony orchestra that specializes in recording of film music “MME” in Skopje.
Sashko Temelkoski- bass clarinet has finished his studies at the Faculty of music in Skopje in the class of Prof. Ivan Kocharov. He has been awarded the first prize at the National competition in 2003 and second prize at the chamber music competition in 2003. He has participated in concert at the Youth podium, Skopje and Ohrid Summer festivals. He is employed at the position of third clarinet/ bass clarinet at the Macedonian Philharmonic.
