(between 10th and 11th)
_____________
MC Mondays is an open mic+ series to be held every last Monday of the month, at the beautiful Gallery MC.
It is a performance-networking opportunity for artists of all disciplines to share their work, get feedback and meet other artists.
Everyone is welcome to participate.
Everyone means – all art (keeping in mind that ‘art’ is a flexible category) disciplines: you may want to read an excerpt form your book, try out a
monologue you’re auditioning with, perform your mime or magic trick, dance your solo, read you poem, play your flute…
Evenings are structured in 3 parts:
– 7 – 8:30p – the open mic part
– 8:45 – 9:30p – the + part – featured artist
– 9:30 – 10p – the meet and mingle part
Here is how it works:
for the open mic part: you show up at 7, sign up with your host (most likely
myself), you get your spot between 7:30 – 8:30, you go when your host (most likely myself) calls your name.
You need to be tech-light (we will provide one mic and a sound system) and your act cannot be longer then 15 minutes
You bring your own audience – we will post the main info on the events and our featured artists on our calendar, but we cannot provide adequate PR for each of you.
for the + part – featured artist: you email me in advance. if your work is selected, we will program you in one of the upcoming months.
If you’re just being an audience, there is a $5 charge. No discounts, no comps, no exceptions. $5 is not more then a small contribution towards the production that is making it happen for you every month.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase, no outside drink will be allowed in the Gallery.
