New York, NY Gallery MC presents a paired exhibition of works by artists Slavčo Sokolovski and Paul Stremple October 1-20th, 2021 at Gallery MC, 549 W 52nd Street, NY, NY 10019.
A reception with the artists will take place Thursday, October 7 from 5 pm – 8 pm.
Artists Slavco Sokolovski and Paul Stremple will present an Exhibition critiquing mankind’s relationship with nature and the Vestiges of the Anthropocene.
Vestige – Slavčo Sokolovski
Sokolovski will show recent and earlier work constructed from discarded, discolored, and distressed fabric to create works of abstract, geometric formalism. This body of work, begun in 2015 on the occasion of major solo exhibition at the Macedonian National Gallery of Art in Skopje, Macedonia, has evolved to include hand-dyed rope, string, and occasional small objects or hardware. The title Vestige reflects his use of refuse, capturing and highlighting marks, stains, and seams – the vestiges of past material use – and drawing attention to their beauty through selection, manipulation, and juxtaposition. A small set from an earlier series of painted canvas and boards with rope fragments, Swings, will be on view as well. For more, see www.sjsokolovski.com
The Anthropocene – Paul Stremple
This work will showcase a series of objects, photography and film as commentary on man’s impact on the environment. This compilation of work is a critique on our antagonistic relationship to nature. It also offers a hopeful plea that we will change our ways to reconnect and restore balance and harmony. For more, see www.stremplefineart.com
